The Community and Economic Development Department is responsible for the City’s planning, building permits and inspections, business licensing, Code enforcement, and economic development. Our goal is to ensure that the City develops in a safe, attractive, and orderly manner.

Business Licensing
All business conducted with the City is required to be done with the proper business licensing. There are traditional business licenses, home-based licenses, temporary/seasonal licenses, alcohol licenses, and solicitor licenses. The licensing process ensures that residents transact with registered and know businesses, sales tax is properly collected, and certain businesses are located in proper land use zones.

Code Enforcement
Code enforcement efforts include keeping weeds down, junk out of view, sidewalks clear of snow and obstruction, and vehicles and signs from creating dangerous traffic conditions to name a few. This is done to maintain our property values and keep our residents safe.

Economic Development
As the city grows, our residents need increased amounts of goods, services, and places to work. The City welcomes this growth and desires to assist those who are wishing to invest here. These efforts are designed to boost the prosperity of our citizens.

Planning
The Planning Department assists property owners and developers in the entitlement process for property, zoning, general planning, land use ordinances, conditional use permits, site planning, and Planning Commission agendas and noticing. This department helps our City grown in an orderly fashion.
