Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports (ACFR)

State law requires that all general-purpose local governments publish within six months of fiscal year end a complete set of financial statements. Syracuse City has elected to complete a Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) each year. This report goes beyond the minimum requirements of state law by giving additional information and insight on the operations and financial wellness of the City.

The ACFR consists of management representations concerning the finances of Syracuse City. It contains:

  • An introductory section
  • Financial sections
  • A statistical section
  • A compliance section

This report is audited each year by an independent audit firm that gives an opinion on whether the report is presented fairly and free from material misstatement. Search an archive of reports from previous years.

ACFR Award

The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to Syracuse City for its comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2020. This is the eleventh consecutive year that Syracuse City has received this award.
