About the City Council
Syracuse City is incorporated under the constitutional provisions of the State of Utah. The City operates under a 6-member council form of government. The Mayor and the five council members are elected at large with staggered terms. The Mayor is the administrative authority by statute. However, in Syracuse City, that responsibility has been delegated to the City Manager. Council has budgetary authority over all city departments and is accountable for all fiscal matters.
