Green waste materials are relatively clean, biodegradable, and unnecessarily take up space in landfills. The materials can be turned into mulch and compost material. It also keeps the green waste out of the landfill, which extends the life of the landfill.
A green waste container currently costs $7.63 per month. This cost covers the City’s costs and ensures an affordable green waste program. Learn more about monthly residential utility billing.
Participating residents will receive an additional green container. The can will be picked up each week on the same day as your regular trash pick-up but by a different truck. Both services will be provided by the City’s current hauler, Robinson Waste.
Cans must be kept for a minimum of six months. During the winter months (December 1 to March 31), the green waste container may be used for regular household waste.
