Jo Hamblin began his public service career in 1996 as a paid-on call firefighter and EMT for Syracuse City. In 2002 he became one of the first full-time firefighters for Syracuse and has advanced to the current rank of Deputy Chief.
Jo worked 13 years for Layton Fire Department as a part-time firefighter and EMT. He was a member of the regional USAR team and is currently the USAR liaison for the Davis County Fire Officer’s Association. He is a CFEI in the National Association of Fire Investigators, an ice rescue instructor for Dive Rescue International. He has an A.A.S in Fire Science from UVU.
Jo resides in Clearfield with his loving wife, two sons and daughter. When he is not at work he enjoys camping, fishing, and riding horses. He also enjoys working with the youth and volunteers as a livestock superintendent for Davis County 4H program.
